Chris Vince MP -Serving Harlow and the Villages
About

I am really proud to be the elected Member of Parliament for the constituency of Harlow, the place I have called home for the last 8 years. Since being elected in the 2024 General Election I have held Harlow at the forefront of everything I have done in my role as your MP. I’m always meeting as many residents, community groups, charities and businesses as possible to listen to your concerns and priorities so I can best represent you and be your voice in Parliament.
A Short Bio:
Before being elected, I dedicated six and a half years of service as a district councillor for a ward in Harlow. During this time, I balanced my councillor responsibilities with the demands of working full-time. In my professional life, I spent two and a half years as the Young Carers Service Manager at a local charity, which is also a network partner of Carers Trust, where I had the privilege of supporting carers throughout Essex. In addition, I spent two years working with a homeless charity, tackling the complex and challenging issues surrounding homelessness.
Earlier in my career, I was a secondary school teacher for 15 years, which allowed me to directly engage with young people and understand the challenges they face in their education and personal lives.
Each of these roles has shaped my drive and determination to make a difference, ultimately inspiring me to become an MP. Through these experiences, I have witnessed firsthand the impact of systemic issues on individuals and communities. I understand the consequences of neglecting the most vulnerable in society, and I am committed to working towards undoing the harm caused by these challenges. My passion to make real change is rooted in my desire to prevent others from facing the same struggles and frustrations that I have seen, and to ensure that we build a better, fairer future for all.
Disclaimer:
I understand you won’t always agree with me. I will always do my best to fairly represent the people of Harlow. I know trust in politicians is at an all time low, and I am going to spend the next – however many years I am fortunate enough for you to trust me – to rebuild the confidence and belief you have in politicians – the confidence and belief you have in me.
