Today is national Siblings Day 2025!

As the chair of the APPG (All Party Parliamentary Group) for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers it is constantly highlighted to me the importance of the sibling bond and the care that siblings provide for one another. Our siblings shape us – and when one must care for another in a larger capacity, this only deepens.

In Parliament this week I had the pleasure to meet and talk with those who are part of the charity Sibs and hear about the work that they do. Sibs is a charity which support those who grow up with or have grown up with a disabled brother or sister. They are currently the only UK charity representing the needs of over half a million young siblings and over one and a half million adult siblings. That’s such a large, and often unrecognised, part of society. Making this day even more important!
